Hear Gwen's Voice in Action

Her rendition of the story added so much to the material—a whole new dimension. I liked it so much that I listened to it twice in two days.

Project: Audiobook Production

Title: Jessica Strange by Stephen Drake

Genre: Fiction, Sci-Fi

Publisher: Next Chapter Audio LTD

Performance and Production Considerations:

Multiple characters: Male and Female Human as well as a variety of Aliens

During book prep and prior to recording ideas were discussed with the author and the timeline was decided on with the publisher. Characters’ voices were created with attention to descriptions in the text as well as thoughts of the author in order to make them true to themselves and differentiated in sound for clarity and to better serve the story.

Prominent use of an alien language throughout the text

With so much foreign language experience in my background, I had a lot to draw on as I worked with the author to establish clear language rules and exceptions for Q’estirian. Though consistency was maintained throughout the book, pronunciation of both English and Q’estirian was also slightly different depending on which character was speaking and how fluent they were.

ACX/Audible production standards

Having completed multiple ACX/Audible projects, my production skills and habits are pretty strong. Working from my sound treated home studio on professional recording equipment (link to list), the noise levels are very low and ACX specs are easily met consistently. The audiobook was completed within the publisher’s production timeframe. AND the book has received a 5 Star Rating on Audible!

So. Much. Drama!!

Audiobook Drama

"From Opera Stages to Audiobook Pages: A Voice Talent with a Rich, Dynamic Range"

Your book is your baby. And I know choosing the right voice for the Audiobook version is a big decision.

My theatre background and 10 years on ACX means I have the skills to create and sustain fictional characters throughout your project as well as the knowledge and experience to produce your audiobook.

Do you plan to use a foreign language in the script? It can be difficult to find someone with language skills. Being an opera singer demands a certain facility with languages; mine include German, Italian, French with a background in Latin as well.

Fun fact: The most languages I ever had in one audiobook was ten (English, German, French,Yiddish, Czech, Hebrew, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Romanian)—I still have bald spots!

Your fictional characters deserve to come to life and I have a lifetime of Theatre and Opera experience to draw on when building them.

Gwen

Is your project a documentary, science and technology, or another non-fiction genre? I have years of teaching experience, especially in science, biology, and health, so I will communicate your information clearly and competently in an engaging manner.

Six years as a morning drive radio personality and over ten years as a Voice Over Talent with a professional home studio give me an edge when it comes to both communication and audio production.
